This site was launched to allow Arkansas Razorback Fans a place to congregate and discuss all things Razorback/Ladyback. Hogville encourages the free exchange of ideas and opinions. There are times, however, where Hogville and/or its members may encroach on a potential copyright situation. Before we jump into that, let’s get one thing put out here real quick:
Hogville.net will rigorously invoke it’s rights under Amendment I (Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Press). Furthermore, to cover our own neck with regard to possible Copyright violations, we’re also covered under the following:
United States Code Title 17, Section 107 entitled “Fair Use” states, “The fair use of a copyrighted work, including such use by reproduction in copies or phonorecords or by any other means specified by that section, for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, or research, is not an infringement of copyright.”
We respect all Copyright holders and will, when possible, identify the source and owner of said copyrights. All original Copyright, Trademark and Registered owners retain full rights to their original material.
POSTING COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL
This policy is actually expanded to cover any and all copyrighted material. It doesn’t matter if it’s a newspaper article, an audio clip, a video clip, an image or a picture. If the copyright is owned by someone else, do not post it on our site. For articles, you are able to take the first 3 sentences or first paragraph (whichever is less in size) and post that. You must also post a direct link to the article and then add your own valid commentary. Any posts that do not follow these guidelines will result in the entire post being removed (or the thread if this is the first post in that thread) and the posting member warned and possibly banned, depending on the severity of the issue.
This is an issue that we take very seriously and, IF requested, we will provide any and all information we have concerning violators to the owners of the sites where the material was taken from. We have an absolute zero tolerance policy on this rule.
Please note that Hogville does make use of school/conference logos in order to identify participating institutions in the Southeastern Conference, and respects and acknowledges the rights of each institution’s intellectual property rights.
Please note that on our “Hogville History” page, there are likenesses of the University of Arkansas mascot in use, however, these are 100% fan art, and as such, are exempt from the standard copyright policies, and are protected by the “Fair Use” act indicated above.
