FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas guard Izzy Higginbottom was named SEC Co-Player of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday. Higginbottom is sharing the honor with LSU’s Mikaylah Williams.

The Batesville native had a huge week and was vital in both of the Hogs’ wins. On Thursday against Boston College, the senior dropped 38 points without making a 3-pointer. It’s the highest-scoring game for a player in the SEC so far this season and tied for the seventh-highest in the NCAA.

It was also the highest-scoring game for a Razorback since Chelsea Dungee put up 41 against Auburn in 2019. Her 38 points rank tied for fifth for the school’s single-game points record. Her 14 made field goals were the most by a Razorback since 1991.

Against SEMO, Higginbottom ranked second on the team with 18 points and went a perfect 5-5 at the free throw line, her fifth time shooting 100% from the line this season.

This week, Higginbottom led the SEC and ranked fifth in the NCAA in points (56), led the SEC and ranked T-7 in the NCAA in points per game (28) and led the SEC and ranked T-7 in free throws made (15).

So far this season, Higginbottom leads the NCAA in free throws (83), ranks second in points (259) and ranks fifth in points per game (23.5). She has been in double figures in all 11 games this year.

Higginbottom is Arkansas’ first SEC Player of the Week since Amber Ramirez was honored in 2022.
