Arkansas lands LB Andrew Harris from transfer portal

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas has landed former UCF linebacker Andrew Harris from the transfer portal.

Harris, 6-2, 233, took an official visit to Arkansas arriving late Wednesday night then leaving Friday. Harris was recruited to UCF by now Arkansas Defensive Coordinator Travis Williams and credited him for helping get to the Hogs.

“The people here,” Harris said. “Coach Twill I feel like me putting my trust in Twill and me being the best man I can be and a better football player. Coach Twill for sure I feel like he’s going to change my life.”

In 2024 with UCF Harris had nine tackles, six solo and one sack. As a freshman in 2023 he had five tackles, two solo and was a key member of UCF’s special teams.

Obviously the official visit to Arkansas helped Harris decide as well.

“It went really good,” Harris said. “It was a great experience. The culture was a good. The people were good. The facility…just everything overall was a really good.”

Seeing Williams again also added to the positives of visiting Arkansas.

“Honestly it was the truth,” Harris said. “A really great experience again because that was the first dude I was ever committed to out of high school. I had a great time and just chopping up ball with him and learning his defense and also just him teaching me different things about being a man in life and also how to be better on the football field. 

“It was kind of like old times when like in high school he taught me how to fish and I caught my first fish. He’s still got that video”

Harris was a four-star recruit out of Altamonte Springs (Fla.) Lake Brantley High School. He made 72 tackles (30 solo) to go with four sacks, three interceptions and three caused fumbles as senior in 2022.
