FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas has added another former in-state baseball standout via the NCAA portal transfer.
Former Little Rock Christian right handed pitcher Jackson Kircher (6-3, 219) announced Friday via his social media that he is transferring from Oklahoma to the Diamond Hogs.
The 19-year-old Kirchner (0-0, 5.68 ERA) is coming off a freshman season in which he pitched 12 2/3 innings for the Sooners in 13 relief appearances, 7 of which were scoreless.
He fanned 17 batters and walked five and was up to 99 miles an hour on his fastball.
Kircher pitched against fellow SEC foes LSU, Vanderbilt, Missouri, Ole Miss and Texas.
As a senior at Little Rock Christian, Kircher hit .495 with 14 home runs and was named to the ABCA/Rawlings High School All-American First Team.
He was rated as the No. 2 outfielder and No. 4 overall prospect in Arkansas and a top 500 prospect nationally by Perfect Game.
Kircher joins former Rogers and Little Rock right hander Jackson Wells and Vanderbilt left hander Evan McElvain as pitchers Arkansas has landed via the portal.
The Razorbacks have also added Bowling Green third-team All-American shortstop Dylan Grego.
Transfers have until July 1 to enter the portal although they do not have to make a choice on a school at that time.
