FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas has signed Fresno State wide receiver Raylen Sharpe for the Class of 2025.

Sharpe, 5-9, 165, has extensive ties to the Hogs’ Bobby Petrino and Ronnie Fouch. He played for both at Missouri State. Sharpe told Hogville why he chose the Razorbacks.

“There’s so many different positives to it,” Sharpe said. “Coach Fouch, I know him personally not just as a coach but a father figure as well. Bobby P, just to be able to know the offense and being able to transition very well. This is SEC football. You show you’re good at football, there’s no question about it.

“The thing about my size, that was the question is about the next level if you can play against real talent and things like that’s so a plus. My family is from Arkansas so my family would be able to go to games. It think it would be an exciting adventure for them as well. That’s the thing I have to look at, this isn’t just for me it’s about my family as well. Being in California, it was kind of hard to for my family being 25 hours from home. This is about three hours from home.”

In his lone season at Fresno State, Sharpe caught 51 passes for 523 yards and 3 touchdowns. He rushed 4 times for 67 yards. Sharpe completed his only pass for a 26-yard touchdown. In 2023 at Missouri State, Sharpe caught 73 passes for 991 yards and 7 touchdowns. In his first year playing college football in 2022, Sharpe caught 16 passes for 307 yards and 1 touchdown. Sharpe is pleased to be back with Petrino and Fouch.

“It’s great, I know the offense like the back of my hand,” Sharpe said. “I was in it for three years So I know that like no others so just being able to be with them. My family loves them as well. Like I said they changed my life and my family’s life. Bobby P and coach Fouch are just great people. Knowing his whole family and things like that it’s just such blessing.”

Sharpe is the third recruit from the portal to officially sign with the Hogs. He joins Oregon offensive tackle JacQawn McRoy, 6-8, 375, and Oklahoma cornerback Kani Walker, 6-2, 206.
