FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas softball head coach Courtney Deifel has quickly filled the Razorbacks need for a slugging first baseman.

California standout Tianna Bell announced her commitment to play her final college season at Arkansas earlier this week.

Bell had career highs this season in batting average (.347), home runs (15) and RBI (54) while playing in all of her team’s 58 games and being named to the All-ACC second team.

The 5-foot-5 Bell also shined defensively with a fielding percentage of .991 after having three errors in 319 chances.

During her career at Cal, Bell hit .305 with 32 home runs and 108 RBIs

Bell is expected to replace Bri Ellis, the nation’s top collegiate player last season with 26 home runs this season for the Razorbacks, who finished one win away from the Women’s College World Series.
