FAYETTEVILLE — Owasso (Okla.) Class of 2025 three-star offensive tackle Blake Cherry was blown away with Arkansas following his official visit.

Cherry, 6-6, 295, committed to Arkansas on June 1. He took his official visit to Arkansas this past weekend and left impressed. He was impressed with Sam Pittman and Eric Mateos, the offensive line coach.

“It was wonderful,” Cherry said. “I was happy to like come home and take pictures me in uniform. It felt like I was home. Coach Pittman and Coach Mateos they treated me I was already at Arkansas.”

With 11 recruits on campus, nine previously uncommitted, did you recruit some for the Hogs?

“I tried recruiting,” Cherry said. “I tried to get some to come to Arkansas and I think we might get a few.”

What did you tell them about Arkansas and why they should become a Razorback?

“You don’t find a place that will treat you like family,” Cherry said. “Like you are one of the guys. No one will treat you like Coach Pittman will treat you. Coach Pittman didn’t just hire these staff members, he hired them because they are the kind of guys he wants to have around. They treat everyone like family. I even had the defensive coaches treating me yesterday like I could have been in their position. There’s no other place like Arkansas. They treat you like family and that’s just it.”

Cherry also talked about the highight of the visit.

“Seeing Coach Mateos and my family get along so well. It was good to see that,” Cherry said.
