FAYETTEVILLE — Greenwood Class of 2025 three-star linebacker Cash Archer was at Arkansas’ football camp on Thursday to work at linebacker.

Archer, 6-1, 220, was at the edge last season, Archer had had 78 tackles, 29 for loss, 20 sacks, 38 quarterback hurries, four pass breakups, two forced fumbles and blocked both a punt and kick for an undefeated Greenwood squad. Following Thursday’s camp, Archer talked about how it went for him.

“I feel like I did pretty good,” Archer said. “I love the linebacker coach. Coach (Jake) Trump, Coach (Travis) Williams. They are very smart people and someone I would love with at the next level for sure.”

Archer ran a 4.72 in the 40-yard dash after running a 4.71 at Missouri last Thursday. Is that about the time you expected?

“No, I’m faster than that,” Archer said. “Not sure what is wrong with me today.”

In fairness to Archer, he participated in 7-on-7 tournaments recently in addition to traveling for camps. Greenwood a 7-on-7 at Russellville on Wednesday. How has the transition to linebacker gone for you?

“It has been a little easier than I expected,” Archer said. “My vision is good. I’m out of shape right now, but I have good speed. I enjoy it. It’s a fun challenge.”

Archer hasn’t made a secret of the fact he wants to play for the Razorbacks. He didn’t hesitate when asked on Thursday what an offer to Arkansas would mean to him.

“Everything,” Archer said. “I showed the coaches more today than they knew about me last time. I hope that and my game film will change their mind about me.”

Where else you camping this summer after Missouri along with Arkansas?

“Arkansas State on Saturday and then SMU and Kansas State,” Archer said.

Among his offers are Arkansas State, Ole Miss, Louisville, SEMO, Missouri State, Louisiana-Monroe, Toledo and others.
