FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas baseball added a versatile infielder to its transfer portal on Thursday by landing Texas Tech’s TJ Pompey.

Pomfrey started at least 10 games at second base, shortstop and third base each in the 74 games he played in this two years in Lubbock.

A Freshman All-American and a preseason third team All-American entering his sophomore campaign per Perfect Game, Popmey was limited to 19 games in 2024 before suffering a season-ending injury.

Pompey, the sixth transfer portal addition for the Razorbacks this summer, hit .297 with 15 home runs in the 74 games he participated in for the Red Raiders.

A native of Coppell, Texas, was the No. 23 national high school prospect in 2023 according to Perfect Game, the top shortstop in Texas and the No.7 overall prospect in Lone Star state.

He is familiar with the Razorbacks’ Baum-Walker Stadium after going 2 of 5 in two Texas Tech losses to Arkansas his freshman in 2023.

Pompey joins pitchers Jackson Wells (Little Rock), Jackson Kircher (Oklahoma) and Evan McElvain (Vanderbilt), shortstop Dylan Grego (Ball State) and outfielder Zach Stewart (Missouri State) as new Razorbacks acquired through the portal.
