FAYETTEVILLE — Pine Bluff Class of 2029 offensive tackle Ferbia Allen III had a very good football camp at Arkansas today.
Allen, 6-5, 308, is the son of Ferbia Allen Jr. who played college football at Ole Miss after a high school career at Dollarway. The younger Allen was one of the biggest lineman at the Arkansas Linemen Camp Wednesday despite being so young. Following the camp, Allen talked about how it went for him.
“It went good for me,” Allen said. “I learned some new stuff. I learned my current position (right tackle on offense). I like what we were doing here. I like the practice. I liked the work and was glad to be here.”
Allen talked about the influence his father has had on his career.
“A lot since he was mainly in Pine Bluff and was raised there,” Allen said. “A lot of people knew me and my dad since he was a nice person. He really had a big influence in Sheridan.”
Allen was impressed with the facilities at Arkansas.
“All of them are nice,” Allen said. “I like the coaches. They are all very nice and they tried to get me better throughout the whole camp. I like it here. It’s a great place.”
Allen still has four years of high school football ahead of him, but he sees himself one day possibly playing for the Razorbacks.
“Yes sir, definitely, definitely,” Allen said. “I come here pretty much whenever I can. It’s a great place.”
Allen talked about what he feels are his strengths and also things he needs to work on the most.
“I know I am smart,” Allen said. “I need to stop thinking so much though and just play the game. If I keep improving I feel like I can be the best lineman in the state and probably the country if I keep working hard. Just work at home and keep working entirely.”
