FAYETTEVILLE — West Palm Beach (Fla.) Palm Beach Central wide receiver Kamare Williams committed to Arkansas on May 21 despite never visiting the school.

Williams, 6-1, 175, got to see Arkansas this weekend while on an official visit. He was impressed with what he saw.

“The reason I picked Arkansas is, when I dropped my top seven in recruiting and even before that, they were always in touch with me, communicating with me, checking with me,” Williams said. “I’m not saying all the colleges didn’t do that, but I built a bond with Coach Ronnie Fouch. I just feel like that’s home for me.”

Williams talked more about that bond he built with Fouch.

“Me and him developed a bond,” Williams said. “When he first got there, he was always in contact with me, he always showed love, always on the same page with me. I was like ‘that’s the type of coach I need.’

Williams talked more about choosing Arkansas despite never seeing it over offers from 26 others including the schools in his home state such as Florida State, Florida and the others.

“After I came here, it was exactly how I expected it to be, like home,” Williams said. “Now I think about it as home and I’m locked in.”

Williams was asked about the highlight of the visit?

“What really caught my eye was the tour of the campus when I first got here,” Williams said. “I always expected it to be like home, so when I saw it, I was like ‘Yeah, I’m in love with it.”

His teammate at Palm Beach Central is wide receiver Waden Charles. He recently decommitted from Miami and took a visit to Arkansas a week ago. Williams wants him at Arkansas as well.

“Waden Charles, that’s like my twin, that’s like my brother,” Williams said. “Yeah, I think I’ve got a big shot.”
