FAYETTEVILLE — Fayetteville Class of 2027 4-star quarterback Hank Hendrix was impressive at the Arkansas Football Camp on Saturday.
Hendrix, 6-3, 175, transferred to Fayetteville from Boerne (Texas) High School during the spring semester. His father, Che Hendrix, is now on the staff at Arkansas after being the head coach at Boerne for seven seasons. His brother Hutson Hendrix is listed as a freshman tight end on the Arkansas’ 2025 roster.
At Boerne last season, Hank Hendrix completed 274 of 389 passes for 4,237 yards, 46 touchdowns and six interceptions. He also rushed 44 times for 104 yards and a touchdown. Following the conclusion of Saturday’s camp, Hendrix provided feedback on how it went.
“It went good,” Hendrix said. “It’s nice being here in Arkansas. Fayetteville High is just right down the street. Nice being here with the coaches and just letting it rip.”
Hendrix talked about how the move to Fayetteville has been for him.
“Fayetteville has been great,” Hendrix said. “It’s been an easy transition with Coach (Casey) Dick and all the players. Liking it real well now and well into summer with 7 on 7 and team camps. It has been good.”
Hendrix is impressed with the facilities available to the players at Arkansas. Due to lightning and unfavorable weather conditions the entire camp Saturday was held inside at the Walker Pavilion.
“It’s a great school,” Hendrix said. “I’ve always been to Arkansas coming up to games since I was little. Hopefully I get to go to a lot of games this fall. They’re building something special here.”
Hendrix’s eyes lit up when asked his thoughts on Bobby Petrino, the offensive coordinator with the Hogs.
“He’s awesome,” Hendrix said. “He’s big-time.”
Hendrix has a long list of offers from schools all over the country. He was asked what his strength is on the field?
“Probably just my leadership and competitive in spirit,” Hendrix said. “It’s good. Leading my guys and just getting everybody on page. Being a good teammate. I can’t do any success without my guys so that’s another thing. Just building a good community and letting it fly under the lights.”
As far improvements he needs to make Hendrix identified an area.
“Obviously everything is a good answer,” Hendrix said. “Just trying to work on my best decision making. Playing smart football. Can’t let negative plays influence us. Trying to keep everyone positive and just keep moving forward.”
Hendrix was asked if he had to name just one thing that stands out about Arkansas what would it be?
“Just the community,” Hendrix said. “If you are in Arkansas you are an Arkansas fan. Everyone rallies about the Razorbacks. Just how together everyone is here with the players and staff.”
