Razorbacks finish first and third in 4 x 400m relay at Florida

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Arkansas closed out the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational with a pair of fast times in the 4 x 400m relay to place first and third among the college teams in the race.

The Arkansas crew posted a winning time of 3:23.69, which is equal to No. 4 on the UA all-time list, and the third fastest time in the world for 2025 as well as the collegiate leader. The foursome included Kaylyn Brown (51.5), Sanaria Butler (51.5), Rachel Glenn (50.84), and Rosey Effiong (49.87).

Kentucky finished as runner-up to Arkansas with a 3:26.33.

The second Arkansas crew won their section in 3:27.67 with a line-up of Amirah Sharpe (51.6), Ashanti Denton (52.7), Aaliyah Pyatt (51.93), and Joanne Reid (51.49). Miami (3:29.34) and Michigan (3:30.17) were second and third in the section.

Sydney Billington finished fourth in the high jump Invite division, clearing an outdoor career best of 6-0 (1.83), which moves her to No. 4 on the UA all-time list.

Arkansas alum Shafiqua Maloney won the Invite 800m in 1:59.23. Razorbacks in the two section final included Ainsley Erzen (2:05.19), Sanu Jallow-Lockhart (2:05.27), Anna Podojil (2:05.33), and Analisse Batista (2:05.47).

In the 400m Invite, Brown led the Arkansas squad with a 51.00. Effiong followed at 51.03 ahead of Butler (51.62), Pyatt (52.02), Reid (52.62), Amirah Sharpe (52.78), Denton (53.15), and Kayla Davis (53.90).

Prelims of the 100m hurdles had Simone Ballard advancing to the final with a 13.25 while Shania Myers (13.38) and Saira Prince (13.48) did not advance.

In the final of the 100m hurdles, Ballard placed fifth with a 13.42 into a 3.1 headwind.

Early morning races produced a pair of victories for Anya Jackson in the 100m (11.36) and Arianna Sharpe in the 400m (53.49). Rachel Homoly tied for fifth in the pole vault and Hannah Estes placed eighth as both cleared the same height of 13-5.25 (4.10).
