FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas landed Lawton (Okla.) MacArthur safety Adam Auston on Aug. 23 and then this past weekend he got to take his official visit to Arkansas.
Auston, 6-2, 215, had an outstanding junior season. He finished with 70 tackles, five pass breakups, five interceptions and two returned for touchdowns. He talked about this past weekend’s visit.
“It was a great experience,” Auston said. “All the coaches were showing great love. The facilities were nice and I had a great time.”
Auston is a midterm graduate and knows the time to report is growing nearer.
“Yes sir, it’s a dream to play college football,” Auston said. “Just being in this is great.”
He and edge Colton Yarbrough, who is from Durant (Okla.), and plays on same 7-on-7 team as well as committed to Arkansas on the same day are close.
“Me and Colton have a great relationship,” Auston said.
Of the 10 official visitors this past weekend, only linebacker Jayden “JJ” Bush and cornerback Victor Lincoln were not committed to the Razorbacks. Auston worked on getting them to Arkansas too.
“I talked to Victor and trying to get him to flip,” Auston said. “We’ll see what happens.”
What was the highlight of the visit?
“I would say the highlight of the trip was taking photos last night,” Auston said. “Just hanging out with my host.”
