Hogville’s Rules

Folks, we cannot emphasize this enough: When you signed up to post on our site, you agreed to the rules below. If you cannot follow the rules, let us know, we’ll happily recommend another hog fan site for you to call home.

Please be aware that we are required to also link to YouTube’s Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms), and that by accessing the Hogville Live page, you’re also subject to YouTube’s policies. The reason for this is because we use YouTube’s API services on our Hogville Live page.

Although we utilize YouTube’s API services and do collect data (via cookies), we do not use any of that information for any purpose except to show the number of viewers each video has. We will not make any personally identifiable information available to anyone beyond what is legally allowed by YouTube and Google’s terms of service and privacy policies.

Because YouTube is owned by Google, we are also required to link you to Google’s Privacy policies page, located at http://www.google.com/policies/privacy.

Please utilize the quick links/index to navigate to specific sections of our rules.

We do apologize for the length of the rules, but as we have grown monumentally over the past couple years, we’ve had to expand our rules from the most common sense type rules to ones that are very detailed and spell out what we will and will not allow. Times change, people change. We know that. As such, we’ve had to change our rules as well. Ignorance is not bliss, nor is it an excuse here. The rules are broken out into sections for ease of locating things.

You agree, through your use of this forum, that you will not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person’s privacy, adult material, or otherwise in violation of any International or United States Federal law. You also agree not to post any copyrighted material unless you own the copyright or you have written consent from the owner of the copyrighted material. Spam, flooding, advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are also forbidden on this forum.

Your ability to post on Hogville.net is a privilege, not a right. As such, Hogville.net Administration reserves the right to terminate your posting privileges with or without advance notice and for any reason.

Note that it is impossible for the staff or the owners of this forum to confirm the validity of posts. Please remember that we do not actively monitor the posted messages, and as such, are not responsible for the content contained within. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information presented. The posted messages express the views of the author, and not necessarily the views of this forum, its staff, its subsidiaries, or this forum’s owner. Anyone who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to notify an administrator or moderator of this forum immediately. The staff and the owner of this forum reserve the right to remove objectionable content, within a reasonable time frame, if they determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, please realize that they may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately. This policy applies to member profile information as well.

You remain solely responsible for the content of your posted messages. Furthermore, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the owners of this forum, any related websites to this forum, its staff, and its subsidiaries. The owners of this forum also reserve the right to reveal your identity (or any other related information collected on this service) in the event of a formal complaint or legal action arising from any situation caused by your use of this forum.

BASHING OF USERS, PLAYERS, RECRUITS
We appreciate and encourage open discussion on our site, but not at the expense of openly bashing/harassing people. It is our policy to remove/relocate any posts that we feel violates our rules of not bashing any player, coach or member of Hogville (banned or not). Each member of our moderating team has open discretion as to moving/removing offending/violating posts.

You have the ability, as you register, to choose your username. We advise that you keep the name appropriate. With this user account you are about to register, you agree to never give your password out to another person except an administrator, for your protection and for validity reasons. You also agree to NEVER use another person’s account for any reason. We also HIGHLY recommend you use a complex and unique password for your account, to prevent account theft.

After you register and log-in to this forum, you will be able to fill out a detailed profile. It is your responsibility to present clean and accurate information. Any information the forum owner or staff determines to be inaccurate or vulgar in nature will be removed, with or without prior notice. Appropriate sanctions may be applicable.

SIGNATURE AND AVATAR IMAGE RESTRICTIONS
Due to the fact that several users are on dial-up, we are limiting the size of avatars and signature images. Please follow the guidelines for each.

Please note that signature and avatars MUST be PG13. Any signature/avatar that is gratuitous, overtly-sexual, promotes illicit/illegal activities will be removed with or without prior notification, and you are subject to being placed into a member group that prevents profile changes or being banned.

AVATARS: Avatars are not allowed to be any larger than 100 pixels wide by 100 pixels in height and no larger than 75,000 bytes in size. Any avatar found to exceed these specifications will be removed, with or without prior notice.

SIGNATURE IMAGES: A limit of two images per signature, side by side, not to exceed more than 500 pixels in width nor 250 pixels in height. The total of all images in your signature must be no larger than 100,000 bytes for both images combined. Any signature with images that exceed these specifications will be removed, with or without prior notice.

SIGNATURES: No more than 8 lines of text (including hard returns) on a 1024 x 768 resolution, and no more than 4 colors. Any signature that exceed these specifications will be removed, with or without prior notice.

FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND HOGVILLE’S STANCE ON THIS ISSUE
This is a very tricky issue to cover on our rules, however, it needs to be explained clearly.

When it comes to protecting you against a governmental institution from infringing on your right to free speech, Hogville will extend it’s protection to you, as long as you are in compliance with Hogville’s rules. This is, however, where Freedom of Speech will end.

Hogville is not subject to the terms outlined in the Bill of Rights. Due to the fact that Hogville is a privately owned and operated entity, the Bill of Rights is not as applicable here as most of you would believe it is. Think of Hogville as a private home. As long as you follow the rules established by the owners of that home, you would be welcomed as a guest. We would even encourage you to kick your shoes off, grab a kobeer and stay a while. The second you start getting loud, obnoxious, pushy and demanding, or degrading, you’d be asked to leave. That doesn’t stop you from standing out on the sidewalk, but then again, you could also get nailed for being a public nuissance there.

Hogville is no different than that private home. I know you wouldn’t stand for anyone on this site coming into your own home and insulting you or your family. The same analogy applies here. Therefore, in that regard, Hogville is exempt from the Freedom of Speech provisions in the Bill of Rights.

MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS ON HOGVILLE IS NOT PERMITTED
One account, per person. It’s always been that way, it’ll always continue to be that way.

While we may be a fan site, we still want people to post as themselves. We do regularly perform sweeps through our memberlist and catch duplicate account holders. We do encourage husbands and wives to have their own accounts, however, you must contact a Hogville Administrator via private message on the first account to notify us about the second account. Please also provide the second account name so we can document it to ensure that we do not flag both accounts for dupe account status.

We will catch duplicate account holders. Sanctions can include, but are not limited to: Deletion of all duplicate accounts, including the primary/original one. A formal complaint being filed against your internet service provider. A temporary or permanent ban. Possible criminal sanctions/complaints may occur for extreme situations.

BANS AND BAN EVASIONS
We do not take kindly to someone breaking the rules outlined on this page. If you’re banned, kindly respect that. If you want to appeal a ban, please contact hSv via the address on the “Contact Us” page.

We reserve the right to ban anyone for violating our rules. Although this is a free site, you still do not get to dictate to us what the rules are, and your presence on Hogville is a privilege, not a right. If you were intentionally banned, it was done for a reason. Ban evasions can cause additional sanctions such as: Deletion of ALL accounts. Expansion of bans to include IP blocking. Complaints filed with the Internet Service provider. Complaints filed with your employer.

All activities on Hogville are logged into our database with your username, email address, date/time stamp and your IP address. All information will be furnished should the need arise that an abuse report is sent in.

Please note that if you are BANNED, DO NOT CREATE A SECOND ACCOUNT TO AVOID SAID BAN! If you think you’ve got a case for a ban reversal, go over to the Contact Us page (above) and contact hSv to discuss your ban. There are no guarantees that it will be reversed. Under no circumstances are you authorized to create a second account to circumvent a ban.

On the flip side, if you were inadvertently caught by someone else’s ban, we will work with you to make sure that you can get back onto the site. Please do not create a second account. We will need to know the IP address that you were on when you got the notification that you were/are banned. You can easily get that information by paying a visit to http://www.whatismyip.com (Link will open in a new window) and getting your IP address. Please contact hSv via the “Contact Us” page and provide the exact ban message and your IP address. We will work with you to get that particular ban lightened up a bit so you can get back onto Hogville.

One final note about bans… while Moderators can recommend someone be banned… the ONLY people that can actually ban and reverse bans are Administrators. That’s it. No one else. So if you’re banned, it’s not because of a Moderator. Think about that before you decide to harass a mod over a ban.

SELLING TICKETS AND PARKING PASSES ON HOGVILLE
Rule #1. You MUST post the EXACT location of your tickets, and which game they are for.

Rule #2. ALL tickets MUST be sold at FACE VALUE.

Rule #3. Absolutely NO Parking passes for sale, trade, etc. This includes Auction site links, sales, trades, bundles. If there’s a parking pass involved, your post is history.

Rule #4. You may NOT bundle your tickets with ANYTHING ELSE, PERIOD. The tickets cannot be sold as part of a package deal. This includes Razorback Foundation fees and parking passes.

Rule #5. No tickets via eBay. No bundled auctions via eBay. No eBay links in the ticket forum, at all.

Rule #6. No tickets via StubHub, TicketMaster or TicketCity. As TicketCity is one of our major sponsors, if you want tickets via a an online Ticketing agency, please consider using TicketCity.com directly (linked all over our site here).
Rule #7. If you see ANYONE violating the rules above, via post OR private message, you need to report this!

LRPD vice has made numerous arrests in Central Arkansas on unsuspecting scalplers recently. Folks selling tickets above face value on EBay have been getting “toted to the pokey”. LRPD officers will bid on your ticket, win the acution, and then arrange to meet you locally to make the transaction. When they arrive, you’re cuffed and stuffed.

We know of 2 people that have gone down like that in the past… don’t be next.

We have NO problem with people selling tickets here… but damn it, do it for the love of the hogs, not your wallet! Scalpers are absolutely scum sucking bottom feeders and are not true hog fans.

If you’re even THINKING about scalping, go away. If we catch people scalping, we’ll ban you faster than you can say SOLD! We also have direct contacts with FPD and LRPD. If they’re conducting an investigation, we’ll be MORE than happy to help them nail your sorry ass. Do not use Hogville to scalp. Got it? Good.

Rule #8. You MUST post SOLD in the FRONT of your subject (edit your post) when you sell something.

Rule #9. Bumping of a post is not allowed. We have coding in place that prevents this, so save yourself a wasted post (it’ll be removed).

Rule #10. With Rule #9 in place, one thread per person, per game/event. You can combine multiple events into one thread, if you’d like.

Rule #11. You cannot add shipping charges.

Posts that were started more than 30 days ago will regularly be purged.

DICKSON STREET TAVERN POSTING RULES

Due to the actions of a few people, we have had to really clarify our picture posting rules… we do apologize for the inconveniece that this might cause some people, however, Hogville is doing everything that it can in order to ensure that it does not get blacklisted or flagged as an adult site. If that happens, it is quite a daunting challenge to be removed from these lists. Therefore, the following guidelines are being invoked for the Dickson Street Tavern forum.

#1: No pictures with Nudity. Think of a Sports Illustrated picture before hitting attachment in this forum.

#2: No wet T-shirts. Yes, we enjoy these as much as anyone else, but that is pushing the boundaries on a site that should be focussed on Hog stuff…

#3: No nips. Not even an outline of ’em. No animal toes, either… unless you’re showing a non human animal. (Don’t push this one, please.)

#4: Use common sense. If you wouldn’t show it to your parents, don’t show it here. The more that people pay attenton to what they post, the less of a chance that we’ll have to take DST away.

#5: Please note that several people view DST from work and DEPEND on each and every one of us to utilize the NSFW tag (Not Safe For Work). If you’ve got something that’s risque, please tag the subject of your post (or the original subject) as NSFW. The more we all pitch in to help keep people from gettin’ heat from their employers, the better off (and happier) we all are.

#6: This site is owned by hSv / Lanny Beavers. As such, he has the final say on what is and is not considered to be acceptable. The Moderating and Admin team will enforce Hogville.net’s rules on his behalf.

BUY, SELL & TRADE POSTING RULES

#1: No Firearm (rifles, guns, BB guns, etc) Sales. Due to the legal rammifications and the fact that Hogville is not licensed as a retailer/distributor, and the fact that fire arm sales are regulated by the goverrnment, we cannot allow sales of these items.

#2: Bumping of a post is not allowed. We have coding in place that prevents this, so save yourself a wasted post (it’ll be removed).

#3: You MUST post SOLD in the FRONT of your subject (edit your post) when you sell something.

#4: Posts are subject to removal with or without prior notification by Hogville’s Moderating team.

#5: Posts older than 30 days are subject to removal.

#6: Sales of copyrighted items is strictly forbidden.

#7: Sales of any kind of file downloads (this covers music, software, DVD’s, etc) are not allowed.

#8: Do not create multiple posts to sell one item (this includes in other forums). If you’re offering a service, post it either in “Buy, Sell & Trade” -or- Networking… not both.

#9: If running an auction style sale, state the starting bid and end of auction time. If there’s a minimum reserve price, state that there’s a reserve price. You don’t have to tell us what it is… but keep it fair.

#10: No links to eBay auctions. Either you auction here, or you auction on eBay… not both.

#11: If you’re selling your item (services type postings are exempt from this) on multiple sites, state that.

#12: Do not publicly challenge someone for what they’re charging for their item (eg: Why are you charging $350 for that X-Box? I can get it for $275 somewhere else!!!”).

#13: Got pictures? INCLUDE THEM! You have absolutely no idea how much this will help you sell your item (especially if a vehicle, boat or house).

#14: SPELL CHECK YOUR POST! Use *REAL* English, not this “u” instead of “you” stuff. You would be very surprised at how much of a difference that makes.

#15: Be descriptive. Clearly state a price (unless auction style), as well.

#16: Don’t shaft/screw anyone over here… we will happily cooperate with any request for information (following our guidelines under the Privacy Policy (LOCATED HERE) that we provide.

#17: No sales of adult items, alcohol or tobacco.

#18: No MLM, Ponzi schemes.

#19: All sales must be legal in the jurisdiction of both parties.

#20: We reserve the right to request that higher priced items (house sales, new vehicle sales) be done via Hogville’s Member Advertising. This forum is more of a Hogvillian to Hogvillian Garage Sale, than a full blown corporate entity.

#21: If you violate the rules here, you are subject to a warning, a post ban, a forum ban or outright account deletion. As long as everyone follows the rules and plays nicely, this forum does pretty darned well without moderator intervention.

#22: Moderators have the final say.

#23: These rules are subject to change from time to time, with or without prior notification. It is YOUR responsibility to ensure that you stay current with the rules.

If you really want your sale/service to stand out, consider purchasing advertising on Hogville. You can get all of this information by visiting THIS LINK for details. Hogville members are more apt to support a fellow Hogvillian this way (just ask our past advertisers!). Advertising on Hogville really DOES work.

IN CLOSING… A FEW KEY THINGS
Continual violation of these rules will result in your account being placed in a status where you are not able to modify your signature OR Avatar.

All decisions are final and are not up for debate with any member of the moderating team or administration.

Please note that these rules are subject to modification at any time, with or without prior notification. We will make every reasonable effort to notify you of any changes, however, it is ultimately up to you to ensure that you are following the rules above.

These rules were last modified on September 5th, 2011.
