4-star DT Kevin Oatis chooses Hogs

FAYETTEVILLE — Hattiesburg (Miss.) Class of 2025 four-star defensive tackle Kevin Oatis has chosen Arkansas over Mississippi State and several others.

Oatis, 6-2, 300, committed to the Razorbacks on Friday as his school prepares for the 2024 season opener on Saturday. He took an official visit to Arkansas on May 31-June 2. He raved about the visit at that time.

“It was good, I love it down here,” Oatis said. “It was everything I could imagine. I love the environment. I love the coaches, love the staff. Love the players. Love everything about it.”

He also visited USC and Mississippi State. His decision came down to the Hogs and Mississippi State.n

“It was just all the coaching staff being so cool to my family,” Oatis said. “I’m a family man and they treat my family like their own family.”

Deke Adams was his lead recruiter.

“He’s a good dude,” Oatis said. He’ll let you know the real. He ain’t going to sugarcoat it. He’ll tell you what he can do for you, what the school can do for you and what you can do.”

Oatis is a four-star with all the recruiting services. ESPN ranks him the No. 171 recruit in the nation, No. 14 defensive lineman and No. 6 recruit in Mississippi.
