DURANT, Okla. — Durant (Okla.) Class of 2026 four-star edge Colton Yarbrough has committed to Arkansas.

C4 owner Sean Cooper has worked with Yarbrough, 6-6, 242, for several years and watched him mature and grow into the No. 1 recruit in Oklahoma in 2026. On Saturday, he chose Arkansas over LSU, Georgia, Colorado and Oklahoma State. Cooper knows what kind of player the Hogs are getting and what made him the national recruit he is.

“I think his work ethic,” Cooper said. “We’ve dealt with a lot of top guys. His work ethic stands out a little bit more. He has always worked hard. Came from a very humble beginning. I’ve been able to have in the sixth grade.

“He’s always had that work ethic, but he has actually been blessed. He has seen multiple guys like Bai Jobe and others. He was a kid when he watched those guys blow up and that gave him a lot of hope. He already had a fire, but that just kept fueling his fire. He has the perfect combo of work ethic and true southern Oklahoma grind. He played the same position as Bai Jobe and been able to work out with him. I think that separated his mentality. His work ethic just a little big higher than most of those players.”

In addition to the finalists, Yarbrough had numerous other offers from top schools around the nation. What led him to Arkansas?

“He and I talked about it,” Cooper said. “It has kind of been Arkansas for a long time. When we went to Georgia last week that was a good trip. But Deke Adams, the consistency with Sam Pittman, every time we’ve been there they have treated him like a priority. Any time and every time we call they answer the phone. Deke answers and will face time him. It’s not I will talk to you later. Deke has been one of the most consistent recruiters I’ve dealt with in the last seven or eight years.”

As far as his strengths on the field, Cooper likes what Yarbrough brings to the Durant team.

“I think his length and athleticism,” Cooper said. “He made a (great and unbelievable) play on a running back from Sapulpa last year. I tried to explain to people that is what makes him a Power 5 national recruit. There’s a lot of great high school football players that can’t make that play. He reached over the fullback to get the tailback and tackle him. He can make plays because of his length. He loves to play football. He has learned more football in the last six months on his own.”

Rivals.com rates Yarbrough a 5.9 recruit which is four-stars. Rivals has him the No. 112-overall recruit in the nation in 2026, No. 1 in Oklahoma and No. 9 edge. 247Sports has him a 90 which is a four-star. They rate him the No. 147 recruit in nation regardless of position, No. 17 edge and top recruit in Oklahoma in 2026.
