FAYETTEVILLE — On Tuesday following Monday night’s national championship game won by Ohio State, ESPN released its way-too-early Top 25 rankings for 2025.

The Buckeyes are picked to repeat with Texas closely behind at No. 2. Notre Dame, the runner-up in 2024 to Ohio State, is No. 4. They will take on the Razorbacks on Saturday, September 27. Of the 25 teams picked by ESPN, six of them appear on Arkansas’ schedule for this fall.

In addition to Texas, the Hogs travel to Ole Miss, LSU and Tennessee. The Texas game is Saturday, November 22, in Austin. Ole Miss is No. 25, LSU No. 8 and Tennessee No. 19.

In addition to hosting Notre Dame, Arkansas hosts No. 22 Texas A&M on Saturday, October 18. The 2024 season saw the end of the Hogs and Aggies playing in Arlington’s AT&T Stadium.

Not in the Top 25 were Alabama A&M, Arkansas State, Memphis, Missouri, Auburn and Mississippi State. Memphis and Missouri both ended 2024 in the Top 25. Missouri (9-3) was No. 19 and Memphis (10-2) No. 25. Arkansas will go to Memphis on Saturday, September 20, and host Missouri Saturday, November 29.

In ESPN’s teams to be considered for the Top 25 were Auburn and Missouri.
