FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas has nine verbal pledges for the Class of 2026 at this time.

The class is led by Durant (Okla.) four-star edge Colton Yarbrough, 6-6, 242, who is the top prospect in Oklahoma in 2026. Yarbrough chose the Hogs over Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma State and others. He has some family ties to the Razorbacks.

Yarbrough was recruited by Deke Adams, Arkansas’ defensive line coach. Yarbrough reminds several observers of Landon Jackson at the same stage of his career. Yarbrough has a chance to make an immediate impact at Arkansas.

Yarbrough is joined on the defensive line by Farmerville (La.) Union Parish tackle Ari Slocum, 6-3, 310. Slocum spent a lot of time on offense as a junior, but will play both ways as a senior. At tight end, he caught five passes for 106 yards and a touchdown in 2024. He chose the Razorbacks over Missouri and others.

At quarterback, Arkansas has added Gaffney (S.C.) three-star Jayvon Gilmore, 6-5, 195. Gilmore has very good size for an SEC quarterback. As a junior, Gilmore completed 180 of 297 passes for 2,510 yards, 26 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He rushed 80 times for 176 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Gilmore had a long list of offers before choosing the Razorbacks.

In addition to Yarbrough, the Razorbacks have landed the No. 1 safety in Oklahoma in 2026. Last fall, Adam Auston, 6-2, 212, had 70 tackles, five interceptions with two returned for touchdowns and five pass breakups. Auston was also very highly recruited.

Liberty-Eylau (Texas) four-star athlete Dequane Prevo, 5-11, 170, caught 72 passes for 1,541 yards and 21 touchdowns as a junior. He can play on both sides of the ball in college, but most expect him to be a wide receiver for the Hogs. He also completed 2 of 3 passes for 79 yards and a touchdown. He rushed 17 times for 174 yards and a touchdown.

San Diego (Calif.) University City safety Tay Lockett, 6-0, 170, was the first commitment for Arkansas in the Class of 2026. On offense in 2024, Lockett caught 33 passes for 526 yards and 11 touchdowns. On the other side of the ball, Lockett had 107 tackles, 66 tackles, three tackles for loss, two interceptions, five pass breakups, one forced fumble and a recovered one. Lockett had numerous offers and is among the top recruits in California.

Rockwall (Texas) athlete Jack Duckworth, 6-1, 170, is likely to play defense at Arkansas, but had a lot of success on offense in 2024. He caught 34 passes for 472 yards and five touchdowns. In spot duty on defense, he had four tackles, three unassisted and an interception.

Inside the state, Arkansas has numerous offers out in what could be one of the best classes in the state’s history. Fayetteville safety Kyndrick Williams, 6-1, 195, and Lakeside offensive lineman Tucker Young, 6-4, 300, are very good additions to the Razorbacks.
