FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas has landed Farmerville (La.) Union Parish Class of 2026 three-star defensive tackle Ari Slocum.
Slocum, 6-4, 307, went public with his commitment to Arkansas on Monday. Slocum talked about why he chose the Hogs.
“How they approached me and my mother,” Slocum said. “The way they treated us and I really appreciated it.”
Slocum likes Deke Adams and the staff. Arkansas offered him a Prospect Day on January 11.
“The coaches were amazing,” Slocum said. “I met Coach Adams personally. He came to me as a person first before he came to me as a coach. Football is everything, but when a coach cares about you deeper than football it’s a real relationship. All the staff did.”
As a junior, Slocum played more offense than he did defense, but that is about to change.
“I’m a very versatile player,” Slocum said. “I ended the season with about 43 pancake blocks. I had 108 yards and one touchdown. I played a lot more offense than defense. I had three or four tackles, but this year I plan on playing both sides of the ball.”
