FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas has once again landed a former Florida State player with the addition of wide receiver Jalen Brown.

Brown, 6-1, 174, completed his official visit to Arkansas on Saturday and announced he will be a Razorback. As a redshirt freshman in 2024, Brown caught eight passes for 74 yards. He talked about why he chose Arkansas.

“Just talking to coach and him being real,” Brown said of Ronnie Fouch. “All the conversations with coaches and them just being real. Like ‘we need your speed. We want you.’ They’ve got one scholarship left and they’re holding it for me. That means a lot.”

That had to be really special to you them just having one spot and holding it for you?

“It was an honor that team still thinks I’m going to bring a very big aspect to our team and program,” Brown said. “I’m just going to carry that throughout the season. They wanted me here so I’m going to give them my all.”

With you choosing Arkansas the visit obviously went well?

“The visit was good,” Brown said. “I liked it. I like the coaches and the team. Just seeing how everybody works together and that was big for me and my family.”

Brown didn’t hesitate when asked what is his strength on the field?

“Run,” Brown said. “That’s what everybody loves about me I can run. I’m a ball player at the end of the day.”

His teammate at Florida State, quarterback Trever Jackson, signed with Arkansas recently as well. Brown was also impressed with Taylen Green who he met on his visit.

“Yes, he’s big,” Brown said. “Just watching film on him I like how he keeps his eyes down the field, two hands on the ball looking to pass. That is real big for me being a receiver.”

The former Miami (Fla.) Gulliver Prep four-star wide receiver spent the 2023 season at LSU where he redshirted though playing in three games.
