Arkansas maintains No. 1 status, five SEC schools among top 10

NEW ORLEANS (arkansasrazorbacks.com)– Arkansas remains No. 1 in the national ratings index as they prepare to host the Tyson Invitational this Friday and Saturday in the Randal Tyson Track Center while a crew of distance runners will compete at Boston University on Friday.

Despite a week off from competition, the marks produced this indoor season have the Razorbacks with a firm hold on the top ranking.

Arkansas (206) currently leads Florida (133), Oregon (112), Texas (102), and Texas A&M (98). The rest of the top 10 this week includes USC (97), Illinois (91), Georgia (86), BYU (84), and LSU (81).

The SEC has a total of 10 schools among the top 25. Additional programs include No. 14 Ole Miss, No. 15 Tennessee, No. 16 Alabama, No. 17 South Carolina, and No. 20 Kentucky.

Amber Anning leads the 400m collegiate list at 50.56 along with the Arkansas 4 x 400m relay with a 3:25.59. The Razorback distance medley ranks second at 10:49.41. Arkansas also has four athletes ranked third in their respective events along with a trio ranked fourth among collegians.

Teams scheduled to have athletes competing at the Tyson Invitational this weekend include No. 2 Florida, No. 10 LSU, No. 12 Texas Tech, No. 13 Oklahoma State, and No. 14 Ole Miss.
