FAYETTEVILLE, A.R. (KNWA/KFTA) – After heading into the final day of the 2024 NCAA Track and Field National Championships, the Razorbacks women’s track and field team came all the way back to defeat Florida for their first outdoor title under head coach Chris Johnson.

The Hogs were hoping for big points early however Rachel Glenn, the High Jump favorite, was unable to get points on the board.

Arkansas got a huge boost in the 400 meter race as they collected a total of 29 points thanks to Nickisha Pryce, Amber Anning, Kaylyn Brown, and Rosie Effiong all finishing in the top four of the event. Pryce, who set an NCAA record, ultimately won the race with a time of 49.89 seconds but it propelled Arkansas to first in the race for a team title.

Glenn would go on to finish third in the 400 meter hurdles to earn more points for the Hogs, but it was the 4×400 meter relay where the Hogs secured the title. Arkansas led after 19 events by four points over Florida with 20 points remaining.

After Florida took the lead in part of Parker Valby’s win in the 5000m, the title came down to the final event. However, the quartet of Anning, Pryce, Effiong, and Brown gave the Hogs 63 points and the title.
