FAYETTEVILLE – Both of the Arkansas signees taken in the 2024 Major League Baseball Draft have decided to begin their professional careers right now.

Per MLB.com writer Jim Callis, Omaha (Neb.) Millard West shortstop Tyson Lewis signed Friday with the Cincinnati for just over $3 million after the Reds had drafted him in the second round and with the 51st overall selection.

Lewis got over a million dollars more than his slot value of $1.804,900.

Overland Park (Kan.) Blue Valley West outfielder Eli Lovich landed a $650,000 deal Wednesday to sign with the Chicago Cubs per Callis.

The Cubs, who drafted Lovich in the 11th round with the 332 overall pick, will have $500,000 of that count toward its signing bonus pool.
