FAYETTEVILLE — Gastonia (N.C.) Ashbrook three-star linebacker Caleb Gordon was among the eight official visitors to Arkansas this weekend.
The speedy Gordon, 6-0, 218, had a very good 2024 junior season. Gordon finished with 141 tackles, 49 solo, eight for loss, four sacks, two interceptions, a pair of fumble recoveries and one forced fumble. Gordon talked about how the official visit to Arkansas went for him.
“The visit was great, I loved everything about it,” Gordon said. “From the time I got here till the time I left, great coaches, great staff. Coach (Sam) Pittman, Coach T-Will (Travis Williams), I love everything he does here at Arkansas. Definitely looking forward to coming back.”
Gordon was asked what he was referring to when he said coming back?
“Either to be here later on in life, or just come back and visit one more time and make sure,” Gordon said.
What was the highlight of this visit?
“Definitely going up to see the stadium from the top,” Gordon said. “I’m not used to the SEC, so that was definitely a change for me.”
Did this visit increase Arkansas’ chances of landing you in the class?
“It definitely raised them, Arkansas is definitely high on my board, for sure,” Gordon said. “Just want to make sure that, if this is the fit, it’s the right fit.”
Are your other schools still Pitt and East Carolina?
“Yes sir, those will be my last two,” Gordon said. “I’ll probably be committing in July, I’ll be committed before the season. So this summer, I’ll probably come back for a game or…”
Anything about the visit to Arkansas surprise you?
“Just a little bit surprised,” Gordon said. “Like I said, I’m not used to the SEC. I really didn’t know this visit would go like this. It really opened my eyes to Arkansas, for sure.”
