FAYETTEVILLE — Auburn (Ala.) defensive lineman Carnell Jackson was one of 10 official visitors at Arkansas this past weekend.
Jackson, 6-3, 335, committed to Arkansas on April 14. As a junior, Jackson had 36 tackles, 15 solo, 3 for loss, 12 quarterback hurries and a blocked field goal. He provided feedback following the visit.
“It was a great visit,” Jackson said. “I got to meet a lot of the players. A lot of the coaches. It was a great time. I got to experience things I’ve never experienced before. The coaches and players made it overall a perfect visit for me. I know this is home. It will always be home. I really appreciate them having me out for an official visit.”
Jackson was one of three committed defensive linemen at Arkansas for an official visit this past weekend. Others were Durant (Okla.) edge Colton Yarbrough and Farmerville (La.) Union Parish’s Ari Slocum.
“Yes sir,” Jackson said. “We actually hung out with them and their hosts as well. So yeah it was a great time and I got to meet a lot of new people.”
Jackson talked about the highlight of the visit as well.
“The walkout to our favorite song,” Jackson said. “We got to do poses and stuff. The walk like they do before the game.”
Jackson’s parents accompanied him on the official visit.
“They loved it,” Jackson said. “They loved it a lot. They are as excited as I am.”
Jackson said he will be a summer graduate next year thus not able to report at midterm. Jackson said his host told him more about Arkansas.
“He loves the place,” Jackson said. “He really loves it just the same. Everyone loves it.”
As far as what kind of player the Hogs are getting in Jackson he didn’t hesitate to tell fans.
“A nose guard that gets push back on the quarterback,” Jackson said. “He runs to the ball. He plays very well with his hands. He’s a great team leader.”
