FAYETTEVILLE — Greenwood Class of 2026 offensive guard Cody Taylor has been a regular at the Arkansas football camps.

Taylor, 6-3, 278, was among the top campers on Saturday as he worked with Eric Mateos on the offensive line. Following the conclusion of camp, Taylor talked about how this year’s camping trip went.

“The camp went real well,” Taylor said. “Coach Mateos, their new offensive line coach, does some things differently and I like the way he coaches. Really on top of guys when it comes to technique and what to do right.”

Taylor had experienced working with Mateos in a previous year at a different school.

“I had one with him at Baylor,” Taylor said.

Taylor holds nine scholarship offers, but not one from Arkansas to this point. Was anything said in regard to that on Saturday?

“No offer, he just wants me to expand on my explosion,” Taylor said. “My lateral quickness he said is really good.”

Despite not getting the offer, Taylor felt he picked up things at the camp beneficial to him at Greenwood. Taylor also praised his offensive line coach with the Bulldogs.

“Yes sir, I think there’s things I don’t realize in high school football,” Taylor said. “Teaching me things I do wrong. Coach (Austin) Moreton is a great offensive line coach too. I wouldn’t be where I’m at without him.”

An interesting tidbit is while Taylor was working out at Arkansas he got a text from Lane Kiffin, the head coach at Ole Miss.
