FAYETTEVILLE — Former Georgia Tech offensive tackle Corey Robinson II enjoyed his official visit to Arkansas.

Robinson, 6-5, 305, is rated by many the No. 2 offensive lineman in the transfer portal. He has outstanding size and athletic ability.

“I loved it,” Robinson said. “The coaches were great, the players were really, really cool. Met a lot of cool guys and I enjoyed the visit a lot.”

Sam Pittman and Eric Mateos, Arkansas’ offensive line coach, made a very good impression on Robinson. How did the visit help Arkansas’ chances of signing you?

“Definitely raised them,” Robinson said. “With Coach Pittman and Coach Mateos, they really showed me what this program was and how they can help me. It definitely raised them.”

Robinson said his decision is down to three schools and he has a timetable for a decision.

“This is my first visit,” Robinson said. “I plan on visiting Oklahoma and Texas Tech after this. I would assume most likely next Monday or Tuesday.”

Robinson didn’t hesitate to name the highlight of the visit.

“Probably say getting to watch the practice, see how they work and how the offense is,” Robinson said. “Getting to meet some of the guys through that, as well. It was really cool. They showed me a lot of love once I arrived and I really appreciated it.”

Arkansas had three returning starters on the offensive line enter the transfer portal. So the opportunity to play is certainly there for Robinson.

“For sure, I would love to come in and compete with these guys,” Robinson said. “I definitely see an opportunity to grow here, for sure.”

Robinson said that Pittman and Mateos did a good job of explaining how he would be used.

“Really, it was a really solid visit, but just explaining how they could help me become the best version of myself on the field from a football perspective, it’s big for me,” Robinson said. “Learning different techniques, seeing different techniques and tells and showing — we were talking to Coach Pittman and he was saying what he sees in my game that he can improve, that really caught my attention.”

Arkansas has signed one offensive lineman from the transfer portal so far. Oregon’s JacQawn McRoy, 6-8, 375, inked with the Hogs last week.
