FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas will get the nation’s No. 1 kicker in the Class of 2025 when Evan Noel heads to Fayetteville.
Noel, 6-2, 155, committed to Arkansas on Oct. 21, 2023. At Bay Saint Louis (Miss.) St. Stanislaus in 2023, Noel handled all the kicking duties. He kicked off 63 times with 49 touchbacks. He punted 22 times averaging 38. 5 yards with nine inside the 20. He made 42 of 43 point after touchdowns. He was successful on eight of 12 field goals with a long of 49. It will be the place kicking he concentrates on at Arkansas. He took an official visit this past weekend.’
“I really like it here,” Noel said. “I think it’s a beautiful place. I’ve been here so many times and they’ve treated me right every single time. I just love it here. The visit was fun. We did a bunch of stuff. I was really tired.”
The original plan was for Cam Little to kick for Arkansas in 2024, then go to the NFL and Noel would step in to replace him. However, Little exited a year early for the NFL. Arkansas has added two kickers from the transfer portal and have a couple who were on the team last year.
“I think the guys here are going to do a good job for a year,” Noel said. “Then I will be ready to go when I get here.”
Noel said he will graduate next May and then enroll at Arkansas. His commitment though hasnt caused other schools to stop pursuing him.
“I still had Ole Miss and Florida talk to me,” Noel said. “They still want me to visit them. I’ve been pretty loyal to Arkansas. I haven’t gone anywhere else.”
Scott Fountain is the Special Team’s Coordinator at Arkansas and a big reason that Noel feels so comfortable with the Hogs.
“Coach Fountain is really cool,” Noel said. “He’s one of the big reasons I decided to come here. He’s a really good coach. I like what his plan is with the kickers and stuff here. I’m ready to get to work with him when I get here.”
