FAYETTEVILLE — Hattiesburg (Miss.) Class of 2025 defensive tackle Kevin Oatis was among the 13 official visitors at Arkansas this weekend and left impressed.
Oatis, 6-2, 300, talked about the visit upon leaving Arkansas.
“It was good, I love it down here,” Oatis said. “It was everything I could imagine. I love the environment. I love the coaches, love the staff. Love the players. Love everything about it.”
Oatis talked about the highlight of the visit and what he enjoyed the most.
“It was just all the coaching staff being so cool to my family,” Oatis said. “I’m a family man and they treat my family like their own family.”
One additional thing that impressed Oatis about Arkansas was his lead recruiter Deke Adams.
“He’s a good dude,” Oatis said. He’ll let you know the real. He ain’t going to sugarcoat it. He’ll tell you what he can do for you, what the school can do for you and what you can do.”
Was there any surprises on the visit?
“The facility, everything was great,” Oatis said. “I came out here last spring, but me coming out here now I’m surprised by everything down here. Everything is nice, everything is good.”
Oatis puts Arkansas very high among his favorites with visits to USC and Mississippi State coming up. He has a visit to USC next weekend and then one to Mississippi State the weekend of June 22.
“They’re high, they’re high, there’s only a certain amount of schools like that I really like at this moment, but Arkansas is like high,” Oatis said. “At the top.”
Oatis has approximately 25 offers. He is a four-star recruit with 247Sports, Rivals and ESPN. On3 rates him a three-star. In the composite rankings, he is a four-star. Rivals.com has him the No. 7 recruit in Mississippi in the Class of 2025.
