Gymback freshman Roberson and fellow Olympian Chiles tie for first in OKC quad meet

OKLAHOMA CITY – Arkansas gymnastics opened the 2025 slate in Oklahoma City on Saturday night at the Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad and took fourth in the session with a score of 195.875.
UCLA took the session title with a 197.550, Kentucky came in second with a 196.500, and Ohio State placed third with a 196.425 score.
Razorback freshman Joscelyn Roberson had an excellent NCAA debut and tied for first in the all-around with a score of 39.475, the second-highest ever by any rookie Gymback.
She also tied for second on floor, behind only her Team USA and Olympic counterpart Jordan Chiles of UCLA.

Vault:
Cami Weaver got things going in the first rotation with a 9.750 for her Yurchenko full and Leah Smith followed with a 9.825. Following a 9.600 from Frankie Price, Joscelyn Roberson showed no sign of freshman jitters and earned a 9.875 in the fourth spot.
Dakota Essenpries followed with a solid 9.850 for her Yurchenko 1.5 and Priscilla Park closed the rotation with a 9.675. Arkansas finished vault with a 48.975 event score.

Bars:
Roberson led off the bars lineup for Arkansas and got a 9.825 with a stuck double layout dismount. Graduate transfer Kaity Ewald went second with another stick and the same score, and Cally Swaney got a 9.725 midway through the lineup. Park went 9.750 next, and sixth year transfer Mati Waligora came up with a 9.800 in her Arkansas debut in the fifth spot. Senior Maddie Jones anchored with a 9.825 for a 49.025 final total on bars.
Beam:
Kalyxta Gamiao provided her trademark consistency in the lead-off spot on beam for the Gymbacks and notched a 9.825 to start the rotation. Jones was up next and looked solid, capping her routine with a stick for another 9.825. Park kept the momentum going and scored a 9.875 midway through the lineup.
Arkansas was plagued by back-to-back falls from Klein and Swaney, but Roberson didn’t let it phase her and stuck her dismount for a 9.825. The Razorbacks tallied an event score of 48.400.

Floor:
Gamiao also led off floor and earned a solid 9.875 to start the rotation for Arkansas. Jones followed with three clean tumbling passes and a strong performance for a matching 9.875. Smith stuck her second pass cold to cap off an excellent performance and earned another 9.875 for the Gymbacks. Williams followed in fourth and scored yet another 9.875 for Arkansas.
Roberson went up fifth and delivered a powerhouse routine that scored 9.950, sealing her tie for all-around. Price anchored with a 9.900, bringing the floor total to 49.475 for the Gymbacks.

Arkansas hits the road for its first SEC dual meet of the season at Auburn on Friday, Jan. 17. First vault is set for 6 p.m. and the action will be broadcast live on SEC Network.
