LITTLE ROCK — John Calipari and Arkansas landed one of the most coveted prospects in the portal as South Carolina senior big man transfer Nick Pringle committed to the Razorbacks on Tuesday.

Pringle (6-10, 220, senior forward / center, South Carolina transfer) chose the Hoop Hogs over a flood of high-major interest once he entered the portal during the first week of its official opening (beginning Monday, March 24), a list of schools that reportedly included Auburn, Southern Cal, Missouri, Ole Miss, Clemson, North Carolina State, Kansas State, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, and Georgetown.

A source told Hogville on Sunday, April 6, that Pringle was likely headed to Arkansas.

Pringle — he’ll be playing his fourth season in the SEC as a Hog in 2025-26 — started all 32 games in ’24-25 and averaged 9.5 points (third on the team), 6.3 rebounds (second on the team), and 1.1 assists in 24.5 minutes per contest while shooting 57.2% field goals and 65.5% free throws for the Gamecocks in ’24-25. He played two seasons at Alabama (’22-23 and ’23-24) after transferring from Wofford (’20-21).

His per-40-minute production in ’24-25 was 15.5 points and 10.3 rebounds.

He had three double-doubles (points and rebounds) in ’24-25 — 16 points and 14 rebounds in a 75-65 road loss to No. 4 Tennessee on March 8, 12 points and 10 rebounds in a 66-63 home loss to No. 2 Auburn on Jan. 11, and 13 points and 11 rebounds in an 87-71 road loss to No. 16 Indiana on Nov. 16 — and he recorded a total of 10 or more rebounds in five games.

In the Hogs’ 72-53 road loss to South Carolina on March 1, he tallied his league-best of 18 points (7-of-11 field goals and 4-of-5 free throws) to go with 9 rebounds and 2 steals in 23 minutes.

The addition of Pringle gives Calipari and the Hogs a total of five committed players as he joins Karim Rtail (6-9 forward, international prospect from Lebanon who committed to Arkansas in March) to go with a top 5-ranked high school recruiting class in 2025 national Top 5 / 5-star and McDonald’s All American Darius Acuff, Jr. (6-3 guard, Detroit native, IMG Academy, pledged to the Hogs in late July 2024 and signed in November 2024); 2025 national Top 10 / 5-star and McDonald’s All American Meleek Thomas (6-4 guard, Pittsburgh native, Overtime Elite, pledged to and signed with the Hogs in mid-November 2024); and national Top 70 / 4-star Isaiah Sealy (6-7 combo guard / wing, Springdale, pledged to and signed with the Hogs in mid-November 2024).

Pringle is a strong, physical, busy-motor paint presence at both ends of the court.
