FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas continues to search the transfer portal for help in the Class of 2024.

The Hogs will host Marshall linebacker Stephen Dix Jr., 6-1, 237, and Coastal Carolina quarterback Blake Boda, 6-4, 200, for official visits today and Tuesday. Dix started his career at Florida State, but transferred to Marshall for the 2023 season.

In 2023, Dix finished with 67 tackles, 31 solo, seven for loss, two sacks a fumble recovery. He missed the 2022 season at Florida State due to injury. In 2020 and 2021 he played in 21 games for the Seminoles. In 2020 out of Orlando (Fla.) Dr. Phillips he had 45 tackles, 3.5 for loss and a quarterback hurry. For his play he was named the Rivals Freshman All-America team.

Boda is out of Daytona Beach (Fla.) Cocoa. This past season he played in three games as a redshirt freshman. He completed his only pass for 14 yards.

In the April opening of the transfer portal, Arkansas has picked up three commitments. The trio includes Florida State running back Rodney Hill, 5-10, 190, Jacksonville State linebacker Larry Worth, 6-4, 220, and Utah State safety Anthony Switzer, 6-0, 210.

Arkansas hosted Grand Valley State defensive tackle Jay’vier Suggs, 6-3, 295, for an official visit on Saturday and Sunday. He is slated to be at Wisconsin early this week. In a week, he collected 35 offers after entering the transfer portal.

Arkansas has seven scholarships remaining at this time for the Class of 2024. They are known to be seeking defensive tackles, offensive linemen, possibly a wide receiver and then best player available.

It’s also possible that Sam Pittman and Scott Fountain could use one of the available scholarships to award a punter. Starting punter Max Fletcher transferred to Cincinnati. Former Northern Colorado punter Devin Bale who is at Arkansas could be a candidate for that role. He had some very good punts in the spring game and other scrimmages.
