FAYETTEVILLE — Carthage (Texas) Class of 2025 three-star offensive lineman Kash Courtney has flipped his pledge from Baylor to Arkansas.

Courtney, 6-4, 285, committed to Baylor on Oct. 29, 2023, when Eric Mateos was the offensive line coach. However, Mateos left for Arkansas and Courtney took his official visit to Arkansas on May 31-June 2. Mateos offered Courtney Jan. 20 at Arkansas.

Courtney was impressed with Arkansas when he took the visit.

“Man it was great,” Courtney said. “Everybody was excited. It was a fun trip. Last time I was here we saw a little bit, but I’m glad it was in more detail. Just a general good trip.

“The Jones Center and workers there so involved with the students making sure they have everything they need for week. Making sure all their work is done. I thought that was pretty cool.”

Courtney had originally planned to visit Baylor next weekend, but opted to go ahead and end his recruiting with a post on X.

“After lots of prayers and long talks with my family, I have decided to decommit from Baylor and commit to the University of Arkansas. I want to thank Coach (Dave) Aranda and the Baylor Community for the support for the love shown throughout this process.”

Courtney is the ninth commitment for 2025 and second offensive lineman. Owasso (Okla.) High’s Blake Cherry, 6-6, 295, is the other.
