FAYETTEVILLE — Fresno State wide receiver Raylen Sharpe took an official visit to Arkansas and left impressed as he figured he would.
Sharpe, 5-9, 165, caught 51 passes for 523 yards and 3 touchdowns, completed his only pass for a 26-yard touchdown and had 4 carries for 67 yards. He played previously for Bobby Petrino and Ronnie Fouch at Missouri State. Sharpe talked about the visit to Arkansas. In his last season at Missouri State in 2023, Sharpe caught 73 passes for 991 yards and 7 touchdowns.
“My family is from here Little Rock and Pine Bluff so I’m little familiar with the area,” Sharpe said. “Not this area but it all looks the same in Arkansas. Seeing Bobby P and Coach Fouch they pretty much started my career. It’s just a blessing to be here.”
Sharpe talked about what it’s like to possibly be able to come back and play for the pair again at Arkansas.
“It’s great, I know the offense like the back of my hand I was in it for three years,” Sharpe said. “So I know that like no others so just being able to be with them. My family loves them as well. Like I said they changed my life and my family’s life. Bobby P and Coach Fouch are just great people. Knowing his whole family and things like that it’s just such blessing.”
Sharpe is down to Arkansas, Tulane and North Texas.
“Just being able to pick the next school and just being able to get somewhere I can play ball,” Sharpe said. “I did on the FCS level and Group 5 level and not being able to play on the P4, P5 level now. Being able to show I can do it on the next level and being able to go somewhere in order to get to the next level after that.”
Sharpe goes to Tulane on Saturday and visited North Texas last time he was in transfer portal.
