FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Razorback men’s basketball guard Casmir Chavis has entered the transfer portal, according to a report from On3 Sports.
The freshman guard, who initially signed with Washington before a coaching change, committed to Arkansas.
His recruitment had included varying levels of interest from Georgia, Mississippi State, Memphis, West Virginia, Clemson, Arizona State, and Oregon State.

“I chose Arkansas because the development players get is one of the best in the country, and it’s a very nice and supportive community. You have some of the best coaches, and to get coached by them, I couldn’t pass up on it,” Chavis told Hogville’s Kevin McPherson after committing to the Razorbacks in July 2024.
Chavis appeared in just one game this season for the Razorbacks, scoring two points in six minutes in a 109-35 win over Maryland-Eastern Shore on Nov. 25.
He is the first Razorback to reportedly enter the transfer portal since Arkansas’ 85-83 loss to Texas Tech in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
Arkansas has already received commitments for the 2025-26 season — Darius Acuff, Isaiah Sealy, Meleek Thomas and former Lebanese professional Karim Rtail.
