Razorbacks’ upset over Tennessee among most-watched games of 2024 college football season

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The Razorbacks took full advantage of playing on a national stage on Saturday.

Arkansas’s 19-14 upset win over No. 4 Tennessee on ABC was the most-watched college football game last weekend, according to Program Insider.

ESPN said 5.3 million viewers tuned in to watch the game, according to Nielsen ratings. Viewership peaked at 6.8 million viewers.

Other SEC games were also at the top among viewership in Week 6. Auburn-Georgia drew 4.93 million and Texas A&M-Missouri scored 3.27 million, SportsMediaWatch said Wednesday.

Bars, restaurants see economic benefits of Razorbacks’ upset

The Razorbacks’ victory not only outdrew the rest of the college football games in the weekend slate but also outperformed an MLB playoff game happening at the same time. The Kansas City Royals’ AL Division Series game against the New York Yankees on TBS drew a little more than 3.2 million viewers, 2 million fewer than the Arkansas game.

According to SportsMediaWatch, the Razorbacks’ win is the 11th most-watched game of the season.
