Roberson, Price Collect Event Titles, Gymbacks Fall to Tigers

AUBURN, Ala. – The Arkansas gymnastics team made improvements from week one at its first SEC dual meet against Auburn, but the Tigers ultimately came away victorious, 196.700-196.250.
Freshman Joscelyn Roberson had another great performance and collected two event titles on beam and floor. Her 9.925 on beam was new a career high, and her 39.275 all-around score placed her in second.
Roberson and Frankie Price both scored 9.850 on floor, which put them in a five-way tie for gold on the event.
After counting a fall in their opening meet, the Gymbacks bounced back big on beam with a 49.225 event score, which tied Auburn and was their best rotation of the night.
Bars
Following a 9.675 on bars by Roberson, grad transfer Kaity Ewald followed with a solid routine that went 9.825, the same score as her Arkansas debut. Leah Smith competed on bars for the first time this season in the third spot and earned a 9.775, and Priscilla Park and Mati Waligora followed with matching 9.800s. Maddie Jones anchored the rotation with a 9.725 for a final 48.925 mark on bars.
Vault
Cami Weaver led off vault with a 9.825 for a clean Yurchenko full. Price and Smith went next and scored 9.700 and 9.775, respectively, which brought up freshman Ja’Leigh Lang in the fourth spot. She stuck her Yurchenko full beautifully and scored a 9.825 in her collegiate debut. The next two vaults, 10.0 start values from Dakota Essenpries and Roberson, both also went 9.825. Arkansas finished with a 49.075 on vault.
Floor
Kalyxta Gamiao started off floor with a 9.775 and Hailey Klein followed with a 9.800 in the No. 2 spot, her first appearance on the event this season. Seniors Jones and Smith both went 9.750 next. Roberson and Price were in the fifth and sixth spots for the Hogs and both earned matching 9.850 scores to bring the team floor total to 49.025.
Beam
Gamiao again served as lead-off for Arkansas on beam, and got the Gymbacks out to a great start with a 9.850 score. Jones and Park had solid performances up second and third and scored matching marks of 9.825. Weaver entered the beam lineup for the first time in 2025 and got a 9.775, and Cally Swaney recovered from a fall last week with a 9.800 in the fifth position. Roberson anchored the beam team and notched a 9.925 for Arkansas, pushing the event to a 49.225.

The Gymbacks have two more meets in the next week, first a tri-meet with Denver and Texas Woman’s on Monday, Jan. 20 at 1:45 p.m. at Bud Walton Arena. Season and single meet tickets are now available via Razorback Ticket Center, and doors open at 12:30 p.m.
