FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (arkansasrazorbacks.com) – Former Razorback and Fayetteville High School star Sasha Goforth has joined Head Coach Mike Neighbors’ staff as a graduate assistant.

Goforth played two seasons at Arkansas after transferring from Oregon State following an All-Freshman Team season in the Pac-12 in 2021. In her first season with the Hogs, the former McDonald’s All-American made an impact averaging 11.5 points per game to go with 4.8 rebounds per game. She ranks fourth in a single season at Arkansas with 66 blocked shots that season and 2.1 blocked shots per game. She was the only Hog that season to start all 32 games. Goforth played in 59 games in her career, including 39 at Arkansas, scoring 10.5 points per game with 4.1 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game.

“The last two years have changed many things about college athletics, name, image and likeness, multi-year transfers, revenue sharing and conference realignment have grabbed all the headlines, causing many to lose sight of stories like Sasha Goforth,” Neighbors said. “No matter how many changes come along, we will never forget our main focus is using these four years to prepare our players for the next 40 years. Once a Razorback, always a Razorback will never change for our players that leave a legacy here. By joining our staff as a graduate assistant, Sasha continues her legacy as a Razorback. She was a passionate player who gave us everything she had while in uniform and was an unbelievable teammate during the times she could not be in uniform. It is those qualities that give us 100-percent confidence she will be a super role model for our players and an asset on our staff.”

She starred at Fayetteville High School, earning Arkansas Gatorade Player of the Year honors in 2019 and was a three-time All-Arkansas honoree. She was rated as the No. 7 overall player in the nation according to Blue Star Basketball and the No. 21 player nationally in ESPN’s rankings. Goforth played her freshman season at Oregon State in 2020-21. With the Beavers she earned Pac-12 All-Freshman honors after averaging 11.6 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.
