Seven talented recruits visiting Hogs today

FAYETTEVILLE — A talented group of recruits including Greenwood’s Kane and Cash Archer plus Arkansas commitment Tay Lockett will visit the Razorbacks today plus attend Saturday’s scrimmage.

The group worked out at Greenwood together on Thursday and are all friends. Now they will visit Arkansas together. The seven hold over 120 offers,

Kane Acher, 6-1, 207, is a quarterback for the Bulldogs and Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco defensive back Tay Lockett, 5-11, 175, are both in the Class of 2026. Lockett committed to Arkansas on Aug. 24. Another pair of 2026 recruits visiting are St. John Bosco defensive back Josh Holland, 6-3, 175, and Lone Beach Poly defensive back Deon Jackson, 5-10, 165.

The other trio are all Class of 2025. That includes Greenwood linebacker Cash Archer, 6-1, 226, Hesperia (Calif.) Sultana wide receiver Lamason Waller, 6-2, 170, and San Diego (Calif.) Lincoln athlete Dreyden Garner, 6-0, 180.

Kane Archer helped lead the Bulldogs to a 13-0 record and state championship. In 11 games, Archer completed 195 of 266 passes for 2,399 yards, 33 touchdowns and three interceptions. Archer also rushed 163 times for 659 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Cash Archer was outstanding at the edge position, but will move to linebacker in 2024. Bobby Petrino has reached out to him this week. In 13 games in 2023, Cash Archer had 78 tackles, 29 for loss, 38 quarterback hurries, four pass deflections, two forced fumbles and blocked both a punt and field goal. Archer has pulled in several offers but is still hoping to get one from the Hogs like Kane has.

Lockett helped his team to an 11-2 record in 2023. He had 49 tacklees, five interceptions, three pass deflections and recovered a fumble. He chose the Hogs over offers from 39 other schools.

Waller caught 62 passes for 948 yards and 12 touchdowns in 10 games last season. He rushed 21 times for 108 yards and three touchdowns. Waller completed 5 of 10 passes for 95 yards with an interception. He holds 44 offers including the Razorbacks.

Garner has the Hogs in his Top 5. In 2023, Garner caught 38 passes for 894 yards and seven touchdowns. He holds 10 offers including the Hogs.

Jackson had 30 tackles, five for loss and broke up two passes in 2023. Holland had 10 tackles last season as well.
