FAYETTEVILLE — Madison (Miss.) Central Class of 2025 tight end Micah Jones was very impressed with his official visit to Arkansas this weekend.

Jones, 6-5, 240, is being recruited by Morgan Turner and highly recruited by all schools seeking a tight end. Jones talked about highlight of visit.

I would probably say getting to meet other coaches I haven’t talked to,” Jones said. “Just seeing the culture and what they have to offer.”

What did the visit do for Arkansas’ chances?

“They’re definitely in the mix right now,” Jones said. “Still taking other visits and trying to figure this all out probably by the end of the summer.”

Jones has been linked to Florida, LSU, Ole Miss and others in addition to the Razorbacks. He has a visit coming up next weekend.

“Next weekend right now, I got Mississippi State next weekend for an official,” Jones said.

With around 15 or more offers to choose from, Jones estimated when he might make a decision.

“Sometime this summer,” Jones said. “I’m not 100% when but this summer to just try and just get over with so I can focus on my senior season.”

Turner has made a good impression on him.

“He’s a good coach,” Jones said. “He obviously has a lot of guys in the NFL and that’s definitely my goal. Coach Turner is really good coach and has a great mind for offense. That’s something I’m looking at when I’m making a decision.”

Hunter Henry and DJ Williams are previous Mackey Award winners for Arkansas since joining the SEC. The fact Arkansas has had two win the award given to the nation’s top tight end is a positive with Jones.

“Definitely a goal of mine to be a Mackey Award winner and just be the best player I can be so hopefully I can get to the next level,” Jones said.

He wrapped up his interview by once again placing emphasis on Arkansas and how nice it is.

“I would say it’s nicer than I thought,” Jones said. “I’m very surprised and Fayetteville is a really nice town.”
