FAYETTEVILLE — On Monday evening, Arkansas landed a pledge from former Syracuse and Richmond offensive lineman Joe More.

More, 6-5, 307, finished his official visit on Tuesday morning. He talked about why he committed to Arkansas.

“Came on my visit and after meeting with Coach (Sam) Pittman and Coach (Eric) Mateos I was just so unbelievably impressed,” More said. “I decided I really couldn’t pass up on an opportunity to come and be coached and get better by the greatest O-line coach out there and Coach Mateos is an absolute stud.”

More talked about how he got greeted when he arrived at Arkansas.

“When I came in and all the coaches was doing the calling of the pigs, that was pretty cool,” More said.

He talked about his reaction to that.

“It surprised me for sure,” More said. “I didn’t expect It at all, but It was pretty cool. I can’t wait to hear it actually in the stadium with everyone going when it’s really rocking. As soon as I got here, they were all out front calling me in.”

The SEC is something that also appeals to More.

“There was definitely a lot I had considered about moving up after like I kind of said after coming and being so impressed with everyone I met and everything I saw,” More said. “I knew Arkansas was going to be home.”

More said the Razorbacks recruited him to play anywhere on the line. His versatility is something that has to appeal to the Hogs. He has played in 44 games at Richmond and Syracuse. Injuries limited him to three games last season, his lone one at Syracuse.
