FAYETTEVILLE — Hot Springs Lakeside Class of 2026 offensive lineman Tucker Young attended the Linemen Camp at Arkansas on Wednesday and then on Thursday gained an offer from the Razorbacks.

Young, 6-5, 300, also picked up an offer from Memphis this week. Young talked about what the offer from Arkansas meant to him.

“It meant the world to me,” Young said. “It just showed me all the hard work paid off and everything I am doing is right.”

Young talked about what he did so well at the camp that impressed Eric Mateos and Sam Pittman to pull the trigger on an offer.

“I felt all the drills I did at full speed,” Young said. “At the end I was exhausted because I did everything a 100%. I also did well in the one-on-one drills. I’ve been working on them a lot.”

Young also talked about what he feels he does well on the field from his offensive line spot and also where he needs to show some improvement.

“I definitely think my run blocking is good, very good,” Young said. “Once I get ahold of someone it’s hard for them to get out of it.

“I think my pass blocking is pretty good, but I can still improve that for sure.”

Mateos is the new offensive line coach for Arkansas and has made a strong impression on the recruits.

“Oh he’s a great coach,” Young said. “Great personality. He’s a great motivator and person.”

The fact Pittman is now the head coach and is a former offensive line coach also is something Young has taken notice of.

“When the coach offered me I knew they liked what they saw,” Young said. “I think since he was an offensive line coach he can have extra knowledge on offensive line recruiting and stuff.”

Young went into some detail on what he’s looking for in a college when it comes time for him to make the decision.

“I’m just looking for a great overall team and great coaches,” Young said. “Coaches that are willing to work with me.”
