FAYETTEVILLE — Valley View Class of 2026 defensive lineman Noah Wendel got some extensive work at linebacker during Arkansas’ Football Camp.

Wendel, 6-1, 230, finished the 2023 season with 40 tackles, six for loss, two sacks, one forced fumble and a recovered fumble. Following the camp, Wendel reflected back on how he did.

“I felt way better today than yesterday,” Wendel said. “It felt way more natural. I felt like I knew the game better.”

Wendel talked about what led him to camp with the Razorbacks.

“I love the Hogs,” Wendel said. “Family loves the Hogs. We’re all from Arkansas. Growing up it’s been my favorite college.”

Wendel won’t be playing linebacker for Valley View this fall, but feels that is his spot in college.

“I will play defensive tackle,” Wendel said. “In the 3-4, I will be that inside technique.”

Wendel talked about how good he feels his team can be this fall.

“We lost a couple of key players, but we’re going to work our butts off and be as good as we can be,” Wendel said.

Wendel was impressed with the coaches at Arkansas.

“The coaches are phenomenal here,” Wendel said. “They really coach you up and actually pay attention. They evaluate really hard.

“A lot of the (other) camps I’ve been to have been money grabs. A lot of them had the money grab and no evaluation. Just get you in and out the door. They really focus on the big-name players and they don’t really care about the other guys. This place actually evaluatesn almost every single player.”
