FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) – Following No. 5 Arkansas baseball’s 6-4 loss to Florida in game one, head coach Dave Van Horn spoke to the media to recap the game.

The Hogs had the momentum early after Wehiwa Aloy hit his 17 home run of the season off of Liam Peterson in the first. It got even better for the Hogs in the second when Cam Kozeal also hit a solo home run.

From there, Peterson settled in. The Florida starter silenced the Hogs lineup after that totaling 13 strikeouts on the night.

The Gators got on the board thanks to a throwing error by Zach Root with two outs in the third inning. The big blow from Florida came from a four run fifth inning that was capped by a Luke Heyman three-run home run.

Justin Thomas Jr., got the Hogs within two in the seventh, but the offense couldn’t break through late en route to the loss.
