WATCH: John Calipari and players recap 79-72 win over Kansas in the first round of the NCAA Tournament

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) – Following 10-seed Arkansas men’s basketball’s win over 7-seed Kansas, head coach John Calipari, graduate guard Johnell Davis, and graduate forward Jonas Aidoo spoke to the media.

Arkansas came out firing early, the Hogs took a 47-44 lead at half however the Jayhawks made adjustments in the second half to quiet the Hogs’ offense. After leading by as many as 11 points in the second half, the Hogs found themselves trailing by three with less than five minutes to go.

Davis’ three with 1:47 left in regulation helped give Arkansas the breathing room it needed to escape the first round with the win.

Aidoo continues to elevate his play during tournament time, he finished with 22 points and five rebounds. Trevon Brazile recorded another double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds while Davis added 18 points.
