WATCH: John Calipari previews returning to Kentucky & Rupp Arena

FAYETTEVILLE, AR (Pig Trail Nation)- For the first time since leaving Kentucky to take the Men’s Basketball Head Coaching Job at Arkansas, John Calipari will return to Rupp Arena- a place he coached for 15 years.

“I look forward to walking in the building. And, you know, I’m the opposing coach. In my time, I don’t remember them ever cheering an opposing coach. So, I’m fine. All I know is the fans, they’re terrific. They were terrific during our run. They’re engaged. And my guess is they’re going to be really engaged on Saturday,” said Calipari on Thursday.

Calipari is not the only one making a return to Lexington, Zvonimir Ivisic, Adou Thiero and DJ Wagner all played for Cal at Kentucky last season.

“This is kind of like taking players back home,” he added, “They were absolutely engaged with everything there and now they’re going back to that situation. So I just got to talk to them about being calm in the storm. Got to talk to them about the anxiety early. It’s going to be there. That’s why when everybody was just concerned about me walking in to Rupp, what about those three too?”
