WATCH: Sam Pittman previews rivalry matchup with Texas

Fayetteville, AR (KNWA/KFTA) – Coach Pittman met with the media Monday afternoon to preview Arkansas’ matchup with No. 3 Texas

The Longhorns ranked fifth in the initial College Football Playoff Rankings last week. The next set is released Tuesday night.

Saturday marks the 80th meeting between the two rivals. Texas leads the all-time series 56-23.

Arkansas won the last two meetings in 2021 and 2014. The Hogs took down the Horns 40-21 in Fayetteville in ’21 and won 31-7 in the Texas Bowl in ’14.

The 2024 season is the first time in program history in which the Hogs host three top-10 foes. Arkansas took down No. 4 Tennessee 19-14 before falling 34-10 to No. 8 LSU two weeks later.

The Hogs and Longhorns kickoff at 11 a.m. on ABC.
