WR Blair Irvin staying home, heading to Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE — Bentonville three-star wide receiver Blair Irvin III has opted to stay home and play for the Razorbacks.

Irvin, 6-1, 180, took an official visit to Arkansas on May 30-,June 1 weekend. He was at South Florida on an official visit this past weekend. He was slated to visit Kansas State next weekend, but chose to end his recruiting and be a Razorback.

As a junior, Irvin caught 50 passes for 850 yards and 10 touchdowns. He is friends with current Arkansas wide receiver CJ Brown who also played at Bentonville. Irvin was recruited by Ronnie Fouch and will play in Bobby Petrino’s offense at Arkansas.

“Everyone around college football respects his game style and the way he plays a pro-style, NFL offense,” Irvin said of Petrino. “Getting in that system would be great.”

Irvin grew up in Missouri before moving to Bentonville. He admits the move to Northwest Arkansas helped convince him to call the Hogs.

“Yes most of my years were here,” Irvin said. “I moved from Missouri like in second grade. I’ve been to Bentonville High School since third grade. I never really had a favorite college team, but everyone around me loves the Razorbacks so it kinda wore off on me a little bit. It’s a great program for sure.”
