FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas has landed Yoakum (Texas) Class of 2024 wide receiver Zachary Taylor following his commitment on Monday.
Taylor, 6-4, 170, took an official visit to Arkansas that will conclude today. He played quarterback for Yoakum. In 2023 as a senior, Taylor completed 90 of 160 passes for 1,376 yards, 15 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also rushed 91 times for 342 yards and six touchdowns.
Taylor originally signed with Army in December, but was released from his letter of intent. He’s the fifth wide receiver Arkansas has added since the conclusion of last season. Arkansas also has added Texas A&M transfer Jordan Anthony, Bentonville’s CJ Brown, South Florida transfer Khafre Brown and New Orleans (La.) Holy Cross’ Krosse Johnson.
Taylor has outstanding speed. He has been timed at 10.44 in the 100-meter dash, 21.3 in the 200 and 4.48 in the 40-yard dash.
The Razorbacks now have two scholarships remaining for the Class of 2024. Arkansas is also hosting Butler County (Kan.) Community College offensive tackle Kellen Francis, 6-6, 320. He too will conclude his official visit today.
